Yeti Hockey 2026-27 Fall Season
Yeti Hockey Club is ready to hit the ice! Our Varsity or Junior Varsity teams have always worked to compete and grow as part of the community. Get ready for an unforgettable year of growth, camaraderie, and Yeti pride, both on and off the ice.
Preseason conditioning and Evaluations
Preseason conditioning will begin the week of August 9th with evaluation skates expected to take place the week of August 16th. Dates and times will be added soon.
Ages
Yeti Hockey Club is open to hockey players in 9th through 12th grade attending any of the following:
- Lake Zurich High School
- Mundelein High School
- Wauconda High School
When
The regular fall/winter season will commence following evaluations and finish after the league and state playoffs around February/March timeframe.
Where
Practices and home games are held at Barrington Ice Arena.
Practices
Most weeks will consist of 3-4 practices per week depending on the home and away game schedule.
Games
Teams will play approximately 20-25 regular season league games during the season. League playoffs could add another 3-5 games. With state playoffs and additional games / tournaments we anticipate around 45 games.
Tournaments
Both Varsity and Junior Varsity teams should expect to play in 3-4 tournaments. Typically Yeti teams compete in a pre/early-season tourney, one in October or early November, one over Thanksgiving break, and one over MLK weekend depending on schedules.
Season Fees
Yeti Hockey Club Fall/Winter Season Fees:
- Player Fee: $5,900
- Goalie Fee: $3,500
- Yeti Equipment Package (if needed): $575
Fees include pre-season conditioning skates, evaluation skates, and:
- Paid coaches
- 3-4 on-ice practices per week (depending on game schedule)
- Weekly goalie skill development
- Off-ice training
- League fees, state tournament entry fee/ice cost/refs
- Referees for home games
- Practice jersey
- T-shirt
- End-of-season banquet
No team slush fund - tournaments are included!
Additional costs decided for gifts/social events will be collected by team managers.
2026-27 Registration
Step 1: USA Hockey Registration
All players need a 2026-2027 USA Hockey number prior to registering. Click on the logo below:
Step 2: Register for Fall Season
Registration is required for all players looking to participate in pre-season conditioning and evaluation skates.
Step 3: Yeti Uniform Store
The full equipment package is required for first year participants. Supplemental items for returning players are available to reorder. Orders are needed ASAP.
Step 4: Safesport (if needed)
If you are a 2009 birth year or earlier, you will be required to take the SafeSport Core Training or Refresher Course prior to participation for the 2026-27 season.
FUNDRAISING & VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Yeti Hockey Club has been built on a strong foundation of fundraising and parent volunteers to help keep costs down and build a competitive and fun environment... focused on instilling the values of giving back. Parents make the season a success!

- We encourage parents to volunteer to lead or assist with any of the opportunities above, and to bring forward new ideas they’d be interested in helping organize or support through time and/or donations.
Frequently Asked Questions
What equipment should players use for tryouts?
Players should use existing equipment. Please make sure to bring a dark and light jersey.
Are neck guards required by Yeti Hockey?
Neck guards are required to skate, as mandated by USA Hockey as of 8/1/24.
How do I pay offline to avoid the payment processing fee?
Please use the email 'treasurer@yetihockeyclub.com' to pay by Zelle. Or provide a check made out to, "LZMW Yeti" and give it to one of the board members.
